Braintree BMX Club Regional Race Report
The winter regional BMX series kicked off on Sunday in Milton Keynes and twenty hardy riders from Braintree made the journey to compete. Winter racing is organised into formulae with formula five being the youngest group of the day. Racing in this group were British Champ Josh Peters who was almost completely unbeaten winning the group overall. Also in this group and taking the win in the B final was Tom Stokes.

Formula four also saw a stunning win for Braintree in the shape of Lee Golder with Shane Pavitt close on his tail finishing second. George Schwedt-Moret also went through to the A final where he finished sixth. Going in to the B final was Jonathan Boreham coming across the line in sixth place.

Formula three saw excellent moto results for Taylor Andrews getting into the semi-final easily which he won, so into the A final where he finished in a very close second place. Also, going through to the A final was Max Waghorn who finished seventh. There were two other riders who went through to the semi’s, missing out on the A final but going through to the B where Paige Elvin finished fourth and Kelsey Dixon finished sixth.

In formula two, Oliver Cutmore was the only rider who made it into the A final where he finished eighth. Going in to the B final and taking the win was Leon Dixon, closely followed by Natalie Miller in second.

In the top group – formula one - Will Elsey had a stunning day and despite the fact that he was riding up a class, he had excellent moto results and came through the semi final in second. In his final he was close behind the elite riders and finished in fourth, with Stu Dixon not far behind in eighth. Going into the B final following the semi’s was Riess Harper who crossed the line in second with Gavin Stokes close behind in fourth and Sam Aves on his tail fifth.
