if you (BITD):
had a bike called a 'mini-cross' (and launched said bike of big drops).
progressed to a 'tracker' - with mx bars, oval plate and cycle speedway tyres.
bought a Steve Wilson BMX (actually a converted bicycle Trials bike, oh well)
broke above bike, welded above bike (esp stem!) so -
bought a Mongoose California Pro - with Skyways, also alternating between GT Pro or CW bars.
rode (but not raced) the Earls Court track
raced ONCE! at Ipswich - getting beat in 1 heat by D Scott Webb (a claim to fame or shame?)

actually reading that i spose most blokes 35 - 45 could qualify as 'old skool', maybe i'll just leave it to the hardcore, the racers and the freestylers of that time.
Anyways i had an excuse for not being 'full on BMX' - Alan Whicker had done a 'Whickers world' on schoolboy scrambling and the rest as they say........................................... .
