Not another 'play track' please!!!!. Actually the proposals we've seen are for a track and skatepark in Shrub End (nr the football ground). I gave the woman who is doing the fund raising etc a call quite some time ago but no reply, i'll give it another go and see if she can afford MR Jenks or Mr Forte!.

well according to the Gazette the Shrub End proposal has been given a lottery grant of £98,000. Do not know if this includes the BMX track but the skate park mentioned will hopefully be concrete so i wouldn't think to much money left over after that. Ryan, whats the latest you,ve heard?.

ps I know it's a lot of money but this headline in the same paper puts it in to perspective (and shows how out of whack priorities are):

Essex County Council has been awarded £900,000 for the travellers site off Severalls Lane, Colchester, from the Department of Communities and Local Government. Rolling Eyes

Hi Ryan
Just put forward a Steve Jenks or Jason Carpenter track, budget 20K?. Alternatively if no money left after skatepark (probable) just ask if we can be let loose with a digger, budget £200 Laughing

Really though i don't think 98K is going to get a concrete skatepark

http://www.oneminetpark.co.uk/

look at that, Saffron Walden park not that big and cost £280,000 !!! so Shrub End should get 1 bowl !. Makes a good BMX track seem cheap in comparison.
Ryan if you need any support let me know when and where and i'll try and pop along.

its this friday sorry for that.

i think the play track as he was saying would come out of another pot of gold as the company who built those houses have to pay a certain sum of money for so many years for recreational areas. So that money cant be used for the sk8 park. So Fingers crossed !!

If i can call a meeting i will let the world know lol.

Ryan
